From July 14-16, 2019, CLDP held its first intensive workshop on customs valuation for officials in Cairo, Egypt.  

Increased predictability and transparency in Egypt’s customs clearances and valuations will be pivotal to companies’ decisions for further investment in Egypt. The new commissioner of the ECA is committed to customs reforms to improve Egypt’s access to lower-cost inputs in manufacturing, to increase investment, and to reduce import release times.

The workshop is the first in a series of workshops CLDP will hold throughout Egypt to assist the ECA in adopting methodology and processes in line with the Agreement on the Implementation of Article VII of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade of 1994, known as the WTO Valuation Agreement.
