On March 7, CLDP, in partnership with the Royal University for Women (RUW), the Bahrain Center for Dispute Resolution, Mena Chambers Bahrain, the International Chamber of Commerce, and the Center for International Legal Studies of the University of Pittsburgh, sponsored the 5th Annual Middle East Vis Pre-Moot Arbitrators’ Roundtable at RUW in Riffa, Bahrain. More than 50 arbitrators, primarily from the Middle East region, participated in sessions focused on addressing issues presented in this year’s Vis Moot problem. The program also covered new developments in international arbitration and international trade. This event takes places annually on the margins of the CLDP’s Vis Pre-Moot. It prepares the arbitrators for the pre-moot competition and provides an opportunity for regional arbitrators to come together and network with future lawyers from the Middle East. Promoting alternative means of resolving disputes helps increase efficiency of contract enforcement and promotes commercial activities.
