On Nov 20-23, CLDP held an advanced arbitration training for 15 arbitrators from the Maldives. The workshop focused on various advanced procedural and substantive topics in the field of arbitration. The program covered procedural issues of arbitral agreements, appointment of arbitrators, the duties and power of arbitrators, procedural order No 1, and pleading and evidence rule sin arbitration. The program also focused on the hearing, decision making, and award drafting. Finally, the program focused on the enforcement of arbitral awards. The goal of the program was to prepare experienced attorneys to eventually take the accelerated route to membership assessment and test to become a certified member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
