From April 15-17, CLDP, in cooperation with the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, will hold a meeting of the Central Asia Regional Expert-Level SPS Working Group in Almaty, Kazakhstan. This standing working group of representatives from Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan discusses issues impacting sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) measures and notifications to the World Trade Organization (WTO). This meeting will focus on risk assessment and management, digitization and notification, and is part of CLDP’s continued effort to assist the Central Asian republics in improving their SPS legal and regulatory regimes and procedures.
