Juan Pazmiño

Juan Pazmiño is an Attorney-Advisor (International) at the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP). At CLDP, Juan manages legal technical assistance programs in Latin America and the Caribbean, working directly with public and private sector stakeholders in the region to strengthen the enabling environment for international trade and investment. Specializing in anti-corruption, public procurement, and infrastructure project financing, Juan conducts legal gap analyses, advises on best practices, and works with subject-matter experts to develop and implement commercial legal and institutional reforms.

Prior to joining CLDP, Juan was an investigations and litigation associate at a Washington D.C. law firm, where he conducted corporate internal investigations and worked on various issues concerning corporate governance, business ethics, and workplace misconduct. Juan was also an independent consultant for the Coalition for Integrity and TRACE International, where he analyzed emerging corporate compliance frameworks and prepared guidance for multinational companies on managing compliance risks.

Juan received a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School in 2023. Throughout law school, he held internship positions at the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Federal Trade Commission, working on a wide range of cross-border investigations and enforcement matters at each agency’s Office of International Affairs (OIA). Juan graduated magna cum laude from George Mason University with a B.A. in Government and International Relations and a concentration in International Political Economy. He is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia.

Juan is a native Spanish speaker and speaks some Italian.
