Anna Sherman is an International Program Specialist with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) in the Office of the General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Commerce where she works on the Energy and Minerals team. Her programs focus on energy development in coordination with federally recognized Tribes and power sector development in various emerging markets. She also has experience with commercial legal programs in cyber, IP, and arbitration in Europe and North Africa. 

Prior to joining CLDP, Anna worked in security cooperation at the Department of Defense's National Defense University, managing alumni outreach, enrollment, and orientation tour programs for international executive-level security professionals. She also has experience in decarbonization strategy, circular economy projects, due diligence consulting, and politics.

Anna received her M.A. in Climate & Society from Columbia University, focusing on understanding the links between climate science and decarbonization of the energy sector. She also earned her B.A. in International Relations, cum laude, with a minor in Business from Brandeis University where she completed a Boren Scholarship in China. She is a 2026 Women in Energy Fellow at Columbia University's Center on Global Energy Policy.
