On September 17-18, in Tunis, CLDP, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, conducted a workshop on investigatory techniques for combatting anti-competitive practices in public procurement. The workshop equipped participants with the tools to carry out search and seizure operations in public procurement investigations. It also focused on investigations of anti-competitive practices including coercive offers, cover offers, agreements, dumping, and abnormally low prices. Participants included the Tunisian Ministry of Commerce and Export Promotion, the High Authority for Public Markets, the Ministry of Interior Investigation Unit, the Ministry of Justice, and the Tunisian Competition Counsel. This workshop is part of a multi-phase effort to help Tunisia streamline its public procurement system.
