Laura Short is an International Program Specialist with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) where she works primarily on CLDP’s portfolio in the Western Balkans.

Ms. Short previously spent eight years in international active tourism where she managed product development in Southeastern Europe, Scandinavia, and Russia. Most recently, she completed a Boren Fellowship in Croatia where she studied Croatian language at the University of Split and taught ceramics at a local arts nonprofit.

Ms. Short received her BA in International Affairs and Russian Language and Literature from The George Washington University. She received her MA in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh, where she majored in security with a concentration in Eastern European studies. She has superior proficiency in Bosnian-Croatian-Montenegrin-Serbian and advanced proficiency in Russian.
