Isabela Paz is an International Program Specialist with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) in the Office of the General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Commerce. Isabela supports programming across Latin America and the Caribbean, contributing to initiatives focused on commercial law, institutional capacity-building, and sustainable economic development.

Prior to joining CLDP, Ms. Paz served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Community Economic Development in Costa Rica, where she led capacity‑building efforts, project management trainings, and microfinance initiatives with local partners. She also served as a UN Volunteer with Bolivia’s National Committee for the International Year of Volunteers 2026. Previously, Ms. Paz completed an internship with PwC in Ecuador on industry-focused advisory and digital transformation. 

Ms. Paz received a B.S. in International Business and Marketing from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. She grew up in Madagascar, Bolivia, Panama, South Africa, and the United States, and is a native speaker of English and Spanish, with intermediate proficiency in French.
