CLDP organized two-week consultations for a judge from the State Court of BiH and a prosecutor from the State Prosecutor's Office in BiH. The BiH delegates took part in a program of judicial capacity building focused on the adjudication of trademark and copyright infringement cases. They met with trial court judges, CAFC judges, noted IP lawyers and professors, attended a two-day USPTO training program, and spoke to SMEs to understand the importance of IP in economic development. The BiH judge and prosecutor will serve as instructors at the Public Institution Centre for Judicial and Prosecutorial Training of FBiH. In addition, the instructors will lead a workshop in Sarajevo in November 2009 for 30 judges and prosecutors representing the various entities within BiH, including the Federation of BiH, Republika Srpska, and Breko District as well as representatives from SIPA and the Indirect Taxation Authority. These consultations are part of a multi-phase judicial cooperation pilot program. The program's objective is to help create, over the next two years, a critical mass of BiH judges and prosecutors trained in the enforcement of IP laws.
