A 3-day conference organized by CLDP brought together telecom regulators, vendors, and other stakeholders from 32 countries to hear the latest information regarding convergence of telecommunication services and discuss the challenges in regulation. The purpose was to share knowledge and create networks that will acquire some consistency within the region regarding telecommunication regulation. Although one framework will not work in all countries, best practices and proven international regulations were shared to assist in the development of regulatory policy. Safeguarding the general public in the process was also an important factor for discussion during the conference.
