Key meetings focused on U.S. metering and calibration systems, comingling, well-testing, standards implementation, and auditing and inspections took place in New Orleans with DOI experts from the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE).  As a part of this consultation, delegates visited a Training Facility of Shell Oil Company to observe demonstrations of actual meter proving, measurements, and inspections.  Commercial Service Senior Trade Specialist Nyamusi Igambi also organized technical presentations and site visits with the Houston-area equipment and service companies Coastal Flow, Emerson Process Management/Daniel and Cameron Measurement Systems.  The delegation also traveled to SUNOCO Logistics storage facility in Nederland, TX to view metering device installations as well as blending facilities. 

Following the consultation, the COSQC will publish Iraq standards for oil and gas metering and calibration with reference to the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards, and the information exchange will inform the COSQC’s efforts to issue tenders for equipment to furnish the Iraqi National Oil and Gas Laboratory, and the MoO’s tenders for additional metering and calibration equipment and services, for measurement software and integrated solutions, and staff training.
