South Asia: U.N. Global Internet Governance Forum Preconference

IGF internet governance

On November 3, 2020, CLDP conducted a virtual preconference at this year’s virtual Internet Governance Forum (IGF).  CLDP has invited government and non-government participants from several countries, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, the Maldives, and Nepal to learn about plans for this year’s forum and to share information on issues of regional issues, including data and privacy, digital transformation, and access/inclusion.

The IGF is a multi-stakeholder event under the auspices of the United Nations that brings together people from government, civil society, academia, and the technical community to address many issues, including connectivity, openness, and cyber security. Originally scheduled to take place in Poland, this year the IGF will be entirely online, with sessions held over a period of about three weeks.
