CLDP, along with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), U.S. Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and in collaboration with ECOWAS, presented a three day regional workshop titled "Regional IP Protection: The Border and Beyond." This workshop exposed 100 intellectual property (IP) enforcement officials from the 16 ECOWAS member states to the importance of IP protection its impact on the region's economies and the international standards of protection to be attained. It also investigated the skills and mechanisms needed to promote greater communication and coordination among IP enforcement agencies in the region, and benefited from the participation of stakeholders in the local music and film industries.
