Bangladesh: Port Sustainability & Modernization

On August 29 through 30, CLDP, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of the Secretary and the DOT Volpe Center conducted a workshop on Port Sustainability & Modernization in partnership with the Bangladesh Ministry of Shipping. The one and a half-day workshop covered an overview of port planning and development in Bangladesh, strategies on attracting foreign investment, improving port sustainability, and U.S. port best practices. Participants also participated in a capstone exercise to design their own port with long-term master planning and environmental considerations.
