On August 27 through August 28, the U.S. Department of Commerce Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) in partnership with the Bangladesh Public-Private Partnership Authority (PPPA), conducted a workshop on PPP Contract Management. The two-day workshop covered contract and project management and reviewed an Abridged PPP Contract Management Guide prepared by CLDP for the PPPA. The manual covers planning, renegotiation, managing claims & disputes, insolvency, and defaults & termination. The workshop also included examples of project challenges to allow participants to apply the concepts they learned throughout the workshop.

CLDP has been partnering with the PPPA for the last 4 years to provide training on preparing and procuring PPPs. The contract management training addresses the next phase on the PPP life cycle as Bangladesh has more projects entering the operations phase. CLDP’s programming in Bangladesh is part of its ongoing technical assistance under the Infrastructure Transaction and Assistance Network (ITAN).
