On December 3 and 4, 2019, in coordination with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) Secretariat, and the U.S. Embassy in Tirana, CLDP organized a workshop for customs officials from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Moldova on risk analysis and risk profiles and post-clearance audits (PCA).

The workshop was the third in a series of CLDP workshops focused on harmonizing customs procedures in the Balkans region consistent with best practices and obligations set out under the framework of the World Trade Organization Trade Facilitation Agreement (WTO TFA) and CEFTA. During the second workshop, participants identified an interest in deepening understanding of best practices in risk analysis and profiles and PCA. Representatives from each participating delegation provided overviews of their customs procedures particularly related to PCA and to implementing advance rulings. The workshop provided an opportunity for experts to use case studies on rules of origin, PCA, and Risk Analysis/Risk Profiles to dive deeper into each topic and provide real-world examples for participants to discuss.
