On July 15-16, in cooperation with the Georgian International Arbitration Center (GIAC), CLDP hosted a workshop on the “Complexity of Disputes Arising out of Infrastructure Projects.” The workshop brought Georgian and international experts on alternative dispute resolution and International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) contracts together with Georgian judges from the Supreme Court and first instance and appellate courts in Tbilisi and Kutaisi to discuss such matters as dispute resolution mechanisms in construction contracts, enforcement of dispute settlement clauses, and relevant Georgian practice. Alternative dispute resolution in infrastructure projects can promote contract enforcement and save judicial resources thereby promoting project completion and efficient infrastructure development.
