The U.S. Department of State Bureau of Cyberspace and Digital Policy, in cooperation with

CLDP, convened the Western Balkans Digital Transformation Accelerator in Skopje on June

10-11. The two‑day program brought together government officials, U.S. technology

companies, and U.S. government experts to support secure, sustainable digital development

across the region.

CLDP helped convene government officials, technology companies, and U.S. representatives

and facilitated discussions on the region’s most pressing digital priorities, including ICT

infrastructure security, trusted technology, regulatory design for modernization, operational

technology challenges, cloud adoption, and AI readiness. Speakers also outlined actionable

financing tools available through U.S. development and trade agencies to advance digital

infrastructure.

The Accelerator strengthened regional cooperation on digital policy and modernization while

identifying opportunities for continued engagement. CLDP will build on this momentum by

supporting partner governments as they advance trusted, innovative, and resilient digital

infrastructure across the Western Balkans.
