CLDP co-sponsored 19 students and faculty from the American University of Kosovo and the University of Pristina to participate in the Third Central European Vis Pre-Moot and Conference on International Commercial Law and Arbitration, in Budapest, Hungary. The event was organized by Eötvös Loránd University Faculty of Law and included the participation of over 40 universities from around the world. The Pre-Moot featured general rounds as well as a final round for the top two teams and a conference on international commercial law and arbitration on March 19.

Through this program, Kosovo law school students were given an opportunity to take part in a unique, challenging, and practical moot experience, often resulting in their continued interest in pursuing a career in international commercial law. This program will promote international commercial law and arbitration in Kosovo, strengthen the international commercial law and arbitration curricula in public institutions, increase opportunities for interactive and practical experiences for law school students in Kosovo, and create linkages between Kosovo students, faculty, judges, arbitrators and practitioners.

This event also helped prepare the two Kosovo teams for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. CLDP has been supporting students and faculty to participate in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot since 2006, mainly in the Middle East region. The annual Vis Moot, held in Vienna, Austria, is the pre-eminent moot on commercial law and arbitration. This year, teams from over 290 universities and 67 countries took part in the written and oral advocacy competition.
