CLDP organized and presented, through its advisors from the FTC and DOJ, a one-week training seminar in Cairo, Egypt. The seminars focused on the practical training of the staff of the CA, including establishing concise methods for complaint management, including procedures for fact gathering and data collection in inquiries, procedures for dawn raids, developing a system of priorities regarding potential targets, and procedures for drafting reports. In addition, core economic concepts were addressed for the non-economists among the CA’s staff. The FTC and DOJ advisors also conducted short public outreach sessions for the Egyptian business community/private sector and for the CA’s Baord. The public outreach sessions included the participation of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt and the Egyptian Federation of Industries.
