On September 20 – 21, 2022, CLDP, together with the U.S. Embassy, held a two-day conference in Bogota, Colombia to discuss cybersecurity and supplier diversity for critical ICT infrastructure, with a focus on the advantages of Open Radio Access Networks (Open RAN) for 5G telecommunication networks. The workshop reached 70 Colombian participants from organizations including the National Spectrum Agency (ANE), the Commission for Communication Regulation (CRC), the National Planning Department (DNP), and the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communication (MinTIC). The workshop was initiated by opening remarks and commentary from the U.S. Embassy Chargé D’Affairs, Francisco Palmieri, and the Colombian Presidential Advisor on Digital Transformation, Saúl Kattan Cohen. The conference fell under the Digital Connectivity and Cybersecurity Partnership and served to further strengthen coordination between the United States and Colombia on technological innovation, 5G, and securing Colombia’s critical technology infrastructure
