On August 17-21, CLDP held a workshop in Singapore for government officials, private-sector representatives, civil society organizations, and entrepreneurs from Kuwait and Bahrain. Led by U.S. and international private-sector experts, the program focused on the development of small and medium enterprises, promotion of entrepreneurship, the streamlining of company registration processes, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) best practices. The program was held in Singapore to learn lessons from the country ranked #1 for ease of doing business by the World Bank. The delegation had meetings and trainings with the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE), and Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (ASME), and met with entrepreneurs and business leaders. The program culminated with the drafting of comprehensive action plans for improving business registration processes and exploring mechanisms to bolster Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in the Gulf.
