From August 26-29, CLDP facilitated a Summer Course on International Commercial Arbitration in Krakow Poland, hosted by Jagiellonian University. Students from European Humanities University, Ivan Frank National University, Jagiellonian University, Moldova State University, National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Acadmey, Taras Shevchenko National University, and Ukraine Catholic University attended the course. The course was led by instructors from the law firm of White & Case LLP and Sri Lanka’s Moot Court Bench. Topics covered during the course included: the basics of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), careers in ADR and functioning of an ADR center, as well as an introduction to the Vis Moot Competition. This course contributed to CLDP’s goal of creating a cadre of effective ADR practitioners in Central and Eastern Europe while promoting the culture of ADR.
