From August 28 – September 1, 2022, CLDP together with experts from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Ethics Law and Programs Division, conducted two workshops for 110 total Ethics officials within Egypt’s National Food Safety Authority (NFSA), in Cairo and Alexandria. After beginning with an overview of the main principles of NFSA’s code of conduct, the workshops consisted of a series of interactive exercises, in which the participants developed and discussed their own ethics scenarios and developed questions for ethics quizzes. The workshops followed a training of trainers model, allowing participants to utilize the developed resources in future workshops which they themselves lead. These trainings are part of CLDP’s wider efforts to provide technical assistance to build capacity for improving Egypt’s food safety, attracting foreign investment, and facilitating increased international trade in Egypt.
