In June and July, 2020, CLDP and experts from the Ethics Law and Programs Division (ELPD) of the U.S. Department of Commerce Office of the Assistant General Counsel for Administration and Transactions (AD-TRAX), working in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)-funded project Transforming the Assessment and Inspection of Food Business in Egypt (TAIB), provided comments and guidance in the development of the Egyptian National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) draft Code of Conduct.

On August 13, CLDP, ELPD, and TAIB recorded an ethics training, which NFSA will use to promote and socialize the new Code of Conduct with its staff. This will be a significant contribution to the Government of Egypt’s effort to streamline its processes for importing food and combating inflation in food prices.
