On August 18-21, in close coordination with the Iraq Council of Ministers Secretariat (COMSEC), the U.S. Trade Representative, and the International Trade Administration (ITA), CLDP held a seminar for an interministerial delegation from Iraq on technical regulations development and systems of conformity assessment.  In the next few years, Iraq will redesign its legal framework for Quality Infrastructure.  The goals of this ambitious reform agenda include fostering good regulatory practice across ministries, coordination in regulations development and implementation, enhancing consumer protection and reducing technical barriers to trade. The program was held in Istanbul, Turkey, and featured discussions with experts from the  Office of Management and Budget, the World Trade Organization, the U.S. International Trade Commission, the Foreign Commercial Service, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and the Turkish Ministry of Economy.
