CLDP, in partnership with the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA), virtually hosted the Second SCCA Arabic Moot Competition targeting students in universities of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) studying to earn a bachelor’s degree in Sharia and Law. This year, the virtual Moot brought together 54 participating teams representing 36 universities from 26 cities across the GCC. The Arabic Moot Competition prepares students with legal skills needed to argue before international arbitration tribunals and helps develop their written and oral argument skills through direct feedback from practicing lawyers. The event replicates CLDP program goals of the annual Vis Pre-Moot program, which aims to improve the practice of international commercial arbitration and develop the capacity alternative dispute resolution mechanisms abroad.
