From October 9-11, 2024, CLDP together with experts within the Croatian Ministry of Economy hosted a workshop on professionalization and certification of public procurement professionals for 18 representatives of the Government of Moldova. Participants joined from the Ministry of Finance, the Public Procurement Agency, the State Chancellery, and the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Professional Education, among others. The workshop facilitated a comprehensive look into the development and implementation of the Croatian public procurement training system, including a discussion of the evolution of the system and lessons learned, a simulation of the Croatian professional development program, and a session covering the European Competency Framework for Public Procurement Officials. The workshop concluded in a conversation with the Croatian trainers and program providers themselves. This workshop was organized and implemented in line with CLDP and Government of Moldova efforts to establish a formal procurement official certification and professionalization system in Moldova, which will lead to higher retention, increased transparency, and more efficient procurement processes.
