From July 19 – 21, CLDP kicked off the 2023 – 2024 Vis Moot Season with the first Summer Course on International Commercial Arbitration in Islamabad, Pakistan, hosted by the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST). Students from NUST, Fatima Jinnah Women’s University, Bahria University Islamabad, and International Islamic University Islamabad attended the course. The course was led by instructors from the law firm of White & Case LLP and Sri Lanka’s Moot Court Bench. Topics covered during the course included: the basics of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), careers in ADR and functioning of an ADR center, as well as an introduction to the Vis Moot Competition. This course contributed to CLDP’s goal of creating a cadre of effective ADR practitioners in Pakistan and promoting the culture of ADR in the Pakistani legal system.
