On May 4, at the invitation of the Department of Treasury of Papua New Guinea (PNG) and U.S. Embassy Port Moresby, CLDP provided comments on the draft implementing regulations for the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Act of 2014. Developing the implementing regulations for the PPP Act will provide more guidance for investors and developers looking at projects in PNG. The regulations also aim to increase transparency regarding the project selection process, which is a key part of an open and fair Indo-Pacific. CLDP expects to continue providing feedback on the draft regulations during the coming months. CLDP’s work with the government of PNG is part of its ongoing technical assistance under the Infrastructure Transaction and Assistance Network.
