From August 22 to 24, CLDP held a workshop for the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) of Peru and experts from the Community of Andean Nations. The workshop encompassed best practices in implementing a universal service fund in Peru, U.S. broadband programs exemplifying tools to stimulate investment for unserved and underserved communities, and 5G security and Open RAN as alternatives to unsafe point-to-point proprietary vendors like Huawei and ZTE. The workshop ended with the U.S. Embassy Lima and the MTC publishing a joint press release reaffirming their commitment to cooperation in the areas of telecommunications and security.
