On June 30, CLDP in collaboration with USAID Peru, organized a virtual technical discussion for Peru’s Supervisory Body on State Contracting (OSCE) on best practices in strengthening security protocols for procurement platforms. The session was organized at the request of OSCE after its electronic procurement platform (SEACE) was breached and sensitive procurement data was used to benefit certain foreign contractors.  CLDP and experts from the Centers of Excellence (CoE) of the General Services Administration (GSA)'s Technology Transformation Service provided OSCE’s leadership and its information technology team with best practices for establishing effective cybersecurity mechanisms to both internal and external threats to their electronic system. As a result of the meeting, OSCE asked CLDP, in collaboration with GSA CoE, to develop recommendations and a guide on safeguards to protect critical data in their electronic procurement system.
