Qatar: CLDP Leads First PPP Workshop and Provides Comments on Draft PPP Law

On September 25-26, 2019, in Doha, Qatar, CLDP led its first workshop on best practices in public-private partnerships (PPPs) with an interagency working group comprised of the Qatar Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce, Office of the Prime Minister, and Ministry of Public Works. The workshop focused on a specific case study on structuring PPPs for waste treatment plants and addressed key concepts such as valuation and cost-benefit analysis of PPP projects. The workshop followed a CLDP assessment and CLDP comments on a newly-proposed PPP law that is expected to become effective later this year.
