CLDP organized, in close coordination with the US Embassy in Kosovo, the Kosovo IT Association, and the American University in Kosovo, a workshop focused on Software Development and Intellectual Property. Held at the American University in Kosovo, approximately 15 participants from Kosovo's growing IT industry participated in a workshop aimed to address issues such as software licensing, IP ownership in the case of joint development and IP ownership under a work-for-hire software development model. Participants worked on country-specific case studies which reflected new IP issues for the IT community that a new business environment has raised. Besides an IP lawyer from CLDP, the faculty included both a US and EU lawyer specialized in software licensing and in the safeguarding of software development firms intellectual capital.
