From October 16-17, CLDP, together with experts from Ag Aligned Global, conducted a workshop on risk assessment, management, and communication for food safety officials from Sri Lanka’s Department of Agriculture in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The workshop focused in depth on scientific and risk-based approaches to physical, microbiological, and chemical risks in addition to approaches to maximum residue levels of fertilizers and pesticides and on conducting gap analysis in these areas. This training was the third in a series of trainings focused on food safety risk management, and is part of CLDP’s wider efforts to provide technical assistance for improving Sri Lanka’s food safety, attracting foreign investment, and facilitating increased international trade in Sri Lanka.
