On September 11-15, CLDP, USPTO, and WIPO, in close coordination with the National Intellectual Property Office of Sri Lanka and the University Grants Commission, conducted university IP development programs in Colombo, Sri Lanka. A select group of Sri Lankan universities and institutions that attended the April workshop was chosen to participate in a two-day working group session which considered the key policy topics in discussion modules, with policy drafting exercises throughout both days. After completion of the working group sessions, CLDP and experts visited the University of Colombo, University of Moratuwa, and the University of Ruhuna to  meet one-on-one with those universities, answer any questions they have about the University IP policy and implementation, assess current innovative technologies being developed and their associated IP, and actively engage with them to facilitate the development and implementation of their policy.
