From June 2-5, CLDP hosted a delegation from the Afghan Ministry of Mines and Petroleum (MoMP), Afghan Ministry of Justice, and Parliament for a Mining Law Workshop in Doha, Qatar. The program included a day of presentations from local extractives industry legal experts and academics from the Qatar University (QU) College of Law Center for Energy and Sustainability Law. The program addressed pressing issues in extractives industry law for nations faced with conflict. In addition, the Afghan delegation spent three days at the Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Center in interactive sessions with QU academics and practitioners conducting case study analysis of contract negotiation in the extractives industries.
