As part of our ongoing technical assistance to the Government of Morocco (GOM) within the framework of the U.S.-Morocco Free Trade Agreement, at the the request of the GOM, CLDP conducted a workshop focused on trade remedies, including anti-dumping and countervailing duties, in Rabat, Morocco, January 26-27, 2010. The workshop enhanced the capacity and skill of GOM officials from the Ministry of Foreign Trade to address unfair trade practices. In order to carry out the workshop objectives, CLDP relied on U.S. experts from the Department of Commerce's Import Administration and International Trade Commission to present their expertise and engage in a dialogue with GOM and private industry delegates. At the end of the workshop, the GOM officials understood key principles and procedures to be followed by the Ministry of Foreign Trade in order to implement an effective trade defense regime and continue the GOM's compliance with its FTA obligations.
