On September 15-17, CLDP, in partnership with the Tunisian Ministry of Trade and Export Development, held three days of meetings on trade facilitation in Tunis. Representatives from the Tunisian Ministry of Trade and Tunisian customs exchanged with experts from the International Trade Administration’s Office of Trade Agreement Negotiations and Compliance and U.S. Customs and Border Protection to set priorities and roadmaps to improve customs clearance procedures in line with Tunisia’s obligations under the Trade Facilitation Agreement. This served as an initial engagement aimed at reducing administrative and bureaucratic barriers and costs faced by U.S. exporters in Tunisia, in line with the Trump Administration’s policy directive that U.S. foreign assistance makes the United States safer, stronger, and more prosperous.
