CLDP, in cooperation with the UN ECE and the government of Ukraine held the Workshop on the Legislative, Institutional and Practical Issues of the WTO TFA (WTO Agreement on Trade Facilitation) Implementation in Ukraine. The workshop took place in Kyiv, Ukraine, on October 25, 2018 and gathered Ukrainian customs and other government officials, lawyers, and business community.

CLDP has been working with the Ukrainian government and the private sector on the implementation of a wide range of WTO TFA provisions. As a result of coordination with UN ECE, the legislative, institutional and practical issues, as well as suggested solutions thereto, of implementation of the following

-WTO TFA Article 23.2 (functioning of the National Committee on Trade Facilitation);

-WTO TFA Article 10.1 (Formalities and Documentation Requirements);

-WTO TFA Article 10.3 (Use of International Standards);

-WTO TFA Article 10.4 (Single Window).

The Ukrainian government will benefit from the detailed analysis of various aspects of implementation of said measures by international and Ukrainian experts, which will contribute significantly to the development of the roadmap for the WTO TFA implementation.

The workshop further increases the capacity of the Ukrainian government to administer customs and other trade related procedures. In turn, this will lead to better trade and investment opportunities in Ukraine.
