On November 19, CLDP and the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service met with the Palestinian Legislative Review Committee for Competition Law to review a recently updated draft law that was requested by the prime minister. CLDP identified key gaps in the draft law and helped develop a roadmap that will facilitate stakeholder engagement with the private and public sectors. The meeting is part of a series of consultations that CLDP will organize with the Palestinian Authority in its effort to pass a comprehensive competition law. CLDP will work with competition law experts from the World Bank, the U.N. Conference on Trade and Development, and the private sector to provide detailed commentary and guidance to the committee.
