On April 4-5, CLDP, in cooperation with the Ministry of National Economy and the National Steering Committee on Competition, hosted a two-day workshop to review the current draft Competition Law. Tim Hughes, an international competition expert from the Federal Trade Commission joined public sector and private sector stakeholders in reviewing the draft law and provided a comparative analysis based on international best practices. Specifically, the participants applied the current draft provisions to simulated competition cases in order to identify potential gaps in the draft legal framework. A list of recommended revisions for further review and consideration were drafted at the conclusion of the workshop. In the coming weeks, CLDP will provide further written commentary to supplement the list of recommendations.
