From February 12–15, CLDP, in partnership with the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute in Bahrain, hosted a workshop on mediation fundamentals for Bahraini lawyers, administrators, and business professionals. Led jointly by two alternative dispute resolution (ADR) experts from JAMS (the world’s largest private ADR provider) and a local Bahraini ADR expert, the workshop covered theories of conflict resolution, communication skills, different mediation styles, risk analysis, and strategies for achieving settlement. The last two days of the workshop featured mock mediations in which participants assumed the roles of a mediator or party to a dispute. This workshop is part of CLDP’s ongoing efforts to promote timely and efficient resolution of contractual and other legal disputes in the Middle East and North Africa.
