From September 4 - 8, 2023, 80 Government officials, civil society, and private sector representatives from Central Asia and the United States will gather for a Central Asia Regional Inclusive Digital Trade Program co-organized by CLDP and UNESCAP. This program will include U.S.-Central Asia Regional Digital Trade and Women’s Economic Empowerment Working Group meetings. Participants include multi stakeholder delegations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Government participants include Ministries of Trade, Finance, Digital Development, and Central Banks from all five Central Asian countries. USG participation will include USDOC/CLDP/ITA, USTR/SCA/Digital Trade, State Department, and USAID. International experts include colleagues from OECD, EBRD, World Bank/IFC, MasterCard, Visa, NextTrade Group, Stripe, Wise, and World Economic Forum. During the week, the Digital Trade Working Group will be finalizing its provisional 2023-2026 Digital Trade Working Group meeting agenda. Substantively, this program and working group meetings will focus on three issues: (1) outcomes of the draft CLDP Central Asia Cross-Border E-payments Report and Reform Roadmap, analysis of feedback and input, and next steps to operationalize the reform roadmap to improve cross-border payment interoperability in the region; (2)  updates on open-government data and benchmarking data from firm-level surveys for e-commerce and digital trade; and (3) action items for Regional Digital Trade Agenda from the CLDP WEE/regional women business agenda for inclusive digital trade development in the region.
