Georgia: Certificate Course for Georgian Lawyers - Representation in Arbitration Proceedings

CLDP, together with the Georgian International Arbitration Centre (GIAC) and the Center for International Commercial & Investment Arbitration at Columbia Law School (CICIA), is pleased to present the second edition of a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) certificate course designed for Georgian legal professionals seeking to deepen their expertise in arbitration. This CLE course, the first of its kind in Georgia, will provide a 40-hour intensive, skill-oriented training program for legal professionals. 

The course consists of four two-day sessions held in person in Tbilisi, Georgia, on Fridays and Saturdays between March 27 and May 2, 2026. Participants will receive in-depth training from global leaders in international arbitration on key aspects of legal representation in arbitration proceedings. The course covers the following topics: Introduction to Arbitration and Arbitration Agreements; Initiating Arbitration; Constituting the Arbitral Tribunal; Procedural Requests and Hearings; Evidence in Arbitration; Document Production and Disclosure; Main Hearing Preparation and Post-Hearing Procedures; Conducting the Main Hearing; and Recognition and Enforcement of Awards.

This program will equip lawyers with the skills necessary to compete on the global stage and contribute to the development of the arbitration landscape in Georgia and the region. Participants will benefit from the insights and experience of globally recognized arbitration professionals, making this course a unique and valuable opportunity.
