On June 27-28, CLDP will provide technical assistance to the Paraguayan government on spectrum deployment and 5G national security with specific focus on the mid and high-band spectrum to assist with the upcoming 5G spectrum auction. The national security portion of the event will assist in helping the government consider options for how to further limit and remove untrusted vendors from their communications network. This may include adding conditions to their tender. This request is a result of several consultations throughout fiscal year 2022 and 2023 between post, Comisión Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CONATEL), Ministerio de Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (MINTIC), the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and the CLDP. It builds off recent successes limiting a key tender to trusted vendor equipment.
