CLDP sponsored the participation of three judges from Ukraine (2) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (1) to attend the Sixth Annual International Conference on the Training of the Judiciary.   The aim of the conference was to promote the rule of law by supporting the work of judicial education institutions, facilitate cooperation among judicial training institutes, and to provide information about judicial international best practices in judicial training.  The three selected judges have served as leaders in their country’s judiciary by working to develop the structure of intellectual property protection legislation and adjudication.  During the conference the judges shared information about their work with CLDP.  Judge Ljiljana Lalovic from the Court of BiH spoke on a particular session in the conference focused on the development of the first-ever BiH Intellectual Property Benchbook drafted by CLDP over the course of two years.  

Additionally, the Ukrainian judges in attendance agreed that they would also like to begin a joint project with CLDP in drafting a judicial benchbook for use by Ukrainian judges country-wide.  CLDP plans to work closely with the Ukrainian National School of Judges (NSJ) and the Ukrainian Higher Commercial Court (HCC) to establish a working group prepared to tackle the task.
