CLDP hosted a workshop and site visits in Singapore on March 10-14 for a group of Pakistani technology transfer experts from seven universities and the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. This workshop focused on valuation and licensing issues and culminated in the negotiation of a term sheet for a case study prepared by Dr. Steven Price of Oklahoma State University. Participants learned from NIST Chief Counsel on how to draft properly legal agreements to protect the IP rights of inventors, universities, and government offices. In addition to hearing from representatives from SPRING Singapore and NUS Enterprise about the ecosystem for technology start-ups in Singapore, the group visited two incubators to compare and exchange best practices.
