CLDP in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and the US Embassy Kyiv, supported the travel of the Government of Ukraine (GOU) delegation to the Government Procurement Agreement (GPA) Committee Meeting that took place on February 15 and 16, 2016 at WTO Secretariat, Geneva. The GOU delegation consisted of two Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine officials. They attended the GPA Committee meeting and participated in bilateral negotiations with the U.S. and other delegations.

The commitment to join the Agreement on Government Procurement was undertaken by Ukraine when it joined the World Trade Organization (WTO). Having obtained observer status in the WTO GPA Committee in February 2009, Ukraine is now in the process of negotiating its accession to GPA. In order to accomplish the procedural requirements, and carry out the negotiations to join GPA, it is incumbent upon the Ukrainian Government to participate in the GPA Committee Meeting to discuss Ukraine’s Revised Accession Offer and to provide answers to questions posed by GPA members, including the United States.
